Mr. Cusack would like to invite you to participate in 
the 2026 Grand Oak Woods School Computer Science Contest. 
The Contest will be a 2-hour, UIL-style hands-on programming 
contest for the advanced teams. 
A UIL-style written exam (45 minutes) will be offered. 

You must have a signed permission form with Mr. Cusack to compete.

Please fill it out and turn it into Mr. Cusack.
Once you turn it in to Mr. Cusack, I will put you on the Roster to compete.
You will need to turn in the form to Mr. Cusack by Friday December 5, 2023
by the end of the school day.

The fee will be covered by Klein Collins.

Contest Address: 4800 RILEY FUZZEL RD, SPRING, TX, 77386

Transportation: Your family will be in charge of your transportation 
to and from the contest.
You may want to consider carpooling with other students / parents.

Travel time/distance from Klein Collins: 14 minutes/9.5 miles.

Contest Date: Saturday, January 17, 2026

Time: Arrive by 12:30 PM.

Equipment - We will be using PC^2. Face-to-face teams will be allowed only 1 computer. 

Teams / Divisions - Face-to-face and written will be both novice and advanced.
 Each of the 3 contests will have awards.

Written Test - The written test will be in Java. We will use the 6 and 2 UIL scoring.

Format – The programming contest will have 18 problems of varying difficulty levels.
The written test will UIL format with 40 questions.

Programming Languages - You may program using Java only. 

In case our PC2 fails teams should have flash drives to submit solutions.
(Mr. Cusack will provide 3 flash drives per team.)
